Visually inspect the panel with clean white, black, red, green and blue surfaces.

Prepare the right inspection environment

Clean the display with a suitable soft cloth and reduce bright reflections. Switch between solid colors in full screen. A point that remains black can be a dead pixel; one fixed to a single color may be stuck. Dust and scratches can look similar, so inspect the point from several angles.

  • Clean the display surface first.
  • Check every primary test color.
  • Inspect suspicious points again at different brightness levels.

Separate light bleed from pixel faults

Wide bright areas near an edge on a dark image are not single-pixel faults; they can be light bleed related to panel construction and viewing angle. If a point moves when you move your head, surface dirt or a reflection is more likely.

A browser cannot automatically detect a physical pixel fault. DeviceDoctor provides clean color surfaces and you confirm the result. Warranty conditions depend on the manufacturer's pixel policy.
