Laptop microphone not working: step-by-step checks
Separate permission, input-selection and real signal issues in a few minutes.

Simple, honest diagnostics
A successful browser check means the expected signal or event reached this tab during this run. A working camera preview does not guarantee that a meeting application has selected the same camera. A keyboard event confirms an input reached the browser, not that every shortcut will work in every application. Compare the named device and the selected input in the application where you noticed the problem.
Keep skipped, unsupported and failed checks separate. If permission was denied, first review the site's permission setting; that result alone cannot establish a hardware fault. Browser privacy settings can also hide device information. Use an operating-system or manufacturer diagnostic when the browser cannot access the feature you need to test.
Before retesting, save a report if you need a baseline. Keep the same browser and device, change a single setting, and repeat the affected test. For microphone problems, compare physical mute, the selected input and input gain separately. For camera problems, check the shutter and other applications using the camera before changing resolution. This avoids losing track of which change actually helped.
For display timing, keep the tab visible and compare the same monitor at the same zoom and power settings. For controllers, compare a wired connection with Bluetooth and release the sticks while checking the resting position. Persistent symptoms in both the browser and another application are more useful evidence for support than one isolated score. Review downloaded reports before sharing them; they can contain device and connection details.
