See whether a key produces an event and whether the issue is in software or hardware.
Why browser focus matters
The keyboard test can read key events only while the test area has focus. Click the test area first, then press the key you suspect. The screen shows both the physical code and the key value produced by the active layout, which helps separate Turkish and English layout differences.
- Do not expect a result before clicking the test area.
- Try the same key in another application.
- Remember that operating-system shortcuts may never reach the browser.
How to interpret the result
If the key appears on screen, the browser received its event and the issue may be an application shortcut setting. If nothing appears, compare another USB port, wireless connection or keyboard. A single intermittent key can point to dirt or a physical switch problem.
A browser test cannot measure electrical switch life, but it can quickly narrow the issue to software, layout or physical connectivity.
